THE DIFFERENT STEPS TO CREATE YOUR BAG

 

From the first idea to the finished product

 

1-DEFINE YOUR NEED

The first essential step is to define your need. Charlette spends a lot of time searching who will wear it and for which need. She analyses the strengths and the weaknesses of all our products and she checks the fashion trends. She will also determine the best price for the leather bag of your dreams.

 

2- FUNCTIONALITY

Essential points will be questioned concerning the leather good itself : how to wear it, what to be put inside, how to use it…

The answers will help to define the volume and the inside compartments (shapes, number of pockets, for example)

 

3- INSPIRATIONS

In order to stimulate our designer’s creativity, we set up a mood board with all the answers of the previous questions. This board includes all the specifications needed to create the bag. All these elements will guide Andy in his creativity.

 
4- PICKING THE MATERIALS

Caroline is in charge of the material sourcing. She travels to Tunis to check the material warehouse , which is a real gold mine : she will pick there a large selection of leathers and eventually other materials according to the projects and collaborations concepts.

 

5- SKETCHES

While the sourcing is being done, Andy is sketching. He will imagine a large choice of possibilities according to the specifications previously defined.

 

6- SELECTION

During a team meeting, Andy presents his sketches. Only 2 or 3 of them will be selected and often modified before the launching of the prototypes. During this meeting the team will also discover and select the materials according to the colors, the thickness and the quality.. The material must suit the general attitude and the technical construction of the bag.

 

7- LAUNCH OF THE FIRST PROTOTYPE

When the whole team is satisfied with the previous choices , a technical launching file is sent to the manufacturer. The first prototype is launched .

 

8- LPROTOTYPE REVIEW

Once the prototype done, the manufacturer sends it to the Nous & Paname team. A meeting is scheduled in order to look at this prototype in details and check that all the specifications, dimensions and finishes have been respected. The final model is then chosen by our team. The development manager will pass all the, aesthetic, functional, ,technical and ergonomic modifications to the manufacturer . He will shortly make a new prototype. Some new sketches can be needed in order to explain those modifications. This process can be made several times until all the team validate a final prototype.

 

9- LE FINAL STYLE

When the style is finally validated, the development manager makes the technical specifications, very helpful during the production. The last prototype can be used for some shootings and promote the yet to come collection.

 
 10- WEARING AND TESTING

The new style will be worn by one member of the team during 1 month or more in order to test it and adjust some last small details. It can happen that some problems appear during this testing time like premature wear, but i twill be adjusted and corrected directly on the production. This long time testing will also help to notice the natural aging of the material and the style.

 

11- PRODUCTION LAUNCH

This is the end of the whole process : now the quantities to launch must be decided and ordered to the manufacturer. The quantity to order depends on the number of skins available. The production will arrive after 6 to 8 weeks.100% of the production will be checked at the quality control inspection before the expedition, and also once arrived in our warehouse.
